The theatre ensemble “Die Stelzer” from Landsberg with a new mobile production: in highly elegant costumes made of noble black-and-white fabrics they enchant the audience – Haute Couture as performance
Haute Couture: The muses are back!
As if these figures had descended directly from the Götterberg Parnass, the audience stands next to these huge sculptures made of black and white fabrics. But they move and intervene to help and guide visitors through the Night of Art and its trials and tribulations. You yourself are already walking works of art on stilts with a height of 1.4m. These living and moving pictures enchant the audience and transform every place into a picture.
An invitation to photographers, draughtsmen and the public to be inspired. Those who don’t have a camera here will miss the chance to follow the inspiration of the muses.
The stilts accompany the visitors as muses. They follow the winding paths of art.
Visitors with a camera are invited to publish their art pictures on http://www.die-stelzer-blitzlicht.de
Confusing, mysterious and above all beautiful to look at: Huge women in gorgeous black and white costumes strut through the city centre, towering over everything on stilts. They stop, seemingly chat, look into the crowd, which quickly builds up in front of them…
The stilts are active again. Once again they transform streets, squares and pedestrian zones into a stage with the genre of theatre on stilts, creating impressive, vivid images of special aesthetics.
Haute couture on stilts
In the leading role: Beautiful fabrics
In the new production of the stilts there is no story and no person in the foreground, but fabrics play the main role here. Fantastic black and white fabrics, highly elegant, with ball, spiral and zigzag patterns, from slightly falling and transparent to heavy and opaque. The production was created in cooperation with the international fabric producers Pierre Frey (Paris) and Élitis (Toulouse). These exclusive fabrics, which actually find their place on wall coverings, curtains and upholstery, have been “misappropriated” by the stilts and turned into beautiful, noble women’s costumes.
